what’s it like to work with me?

I’m super relaxed and connect well with couples who are also looking for a relaxed vibe and trust me to do my job, I’ve been perfecting it for 10 years :) I’m there to document your day as it happens, not run things, so when you look at your full gallery it’s a true representation of your wedding.

The best advice i can give is not to ask for too many formal group images. I’m happy to shoot around 10 which include the most important immediate family members. Otherwise you’ll get stressed trying to locate guests and it also just gets a bit boring for everyone! You’ll much prefer a candid shot of you all having a good time. I’ve seen it so often where a group shot list gets abandoned halfway through.

good times.

It’s really important to me that you get a good amount of time to say hello to your guests. So i work quickly through your group images and usually split your portrait session into two time slots, around 20 minutes with you before dinner and then a 10 minute short session after dinner when we get that yummy evening light.

great photos.

The best photos are the ones you don’t know are being taken, so even though i direct you a little bit at certain points throughout the day it’s those in-between moments that i’m really looking for. It’s the genuine smiles and laughter i want.

lasting memories.

It’s a cliche but aren’t they so often the truest things? After your day it’s your photos (and video if you have one) which bring back your memories. I know they are such an important part of the whole process so i work exceptionally hard to provide you with the absolute best i can.

How are you going to look at your images in the years to come? Many people are happy with a digital format, but it’s such a nice experience to actually hold an album and look through your printed memories. Your album will become a family heirloom.

HAVE YOU BEEN TO OUR VENUE BEFORE?

This is a common question, and honestly, it really doesn’t matter! There’s venues i’ve shoot at several times throughout the year, there’s venues i’ve only ever been to once and there’s lots of venues i’ve still to see. I think it’s great to get a fresh pair of eyes and find someone who will shoot with intent and not just on autopilot because it’s a venue they’re at all the time.
