Balbirnie house hotel - a gorgeous summer wedding

This wedding was really special. Jen and Clair-Marie had booked me way back in 2018 and unfortunately due to the Covid Pandemic had to postpone their wedding til summer 2022. I’d spent a wee bit of time with these ladies at their engagement shoot and with communicating back and forward coordinating reschedules I’d gotten to know them and was super excited for their day! This was also my first female same sex wedding and it was at one of my favourite venues.

Their ceremony was held in The Orangery, where we heard their story and their promises to each other. Group shots went amazingly well afterwards and then i took them around the grounds of Balbirnie House Hotel for their couples session. This is the part of a wedding day that I love. My couples always appreciate the quiet time together (even though i’m there too with my cameras) and because they are more relaxed after the ceremony they can really enjoy the photo session.

After mingling with guests, they were called down to dinner and I have to say these were some of the most heart felt and emotional speeches i’ve heard at a wedding.

I think what really shines through in Jen and Clair-Marie’s images is the happiness, so many beaming smiles that they finally got their day. It was a real honour to be involved and im so happy to be able to share some of my favourites.
