WINTER WEDDING AT DUNGLASS ESTATE EVENTS VENUE

Excited to share this absolute gem of a wedding i recently had the pleasure of shooting.

So, imagine this: November. Scotland. The gorgeous Dunglass Estate. Sound a tad chilly? It was, but that didn't deter Jay and Lewis from having their dream winter wedding at this beautiful venue. Thankfully they opted to have their ceremony in the pavilion rather than the iconic abandoned church - their guests would have thanked them for that - but i made sure to use it later in the day for their bridal portraits.

Bride, Jay, was tucked away in the Factor's house, and it’s the perfect getting ready space. There was laughter, tears, and a constant buzz of excitement.

Meanwhile, Lewis and his posse of groomsmen were ensconced in the Treehouse.

The weather, in true Scottish fashion, was a fabulous mix of chilly breezes, sporadic showers and blessed pockets of sunshine.

As the guests trickled in for the drinks reception before the ceremony, the atmosphere started to warm up, despite the cold. Jay and Lewis are Dubai residents, so they brought a slice of their adopted home with them, having a brunch-style reception before their ceremony.

Our portrait session was pure gold - winter sun peeking from the cloud-dusted sky, illuminating the beaming couple in an almost ethereal glow. Rain can be a photographer’s nightmare, but when it’s paired with sudden sunshine, it’s like the universe decided to gift us with natural filters.

After dinner, we had a sparkler shot under the fairy lights. Everyone was laughing, holding their sparklers aloft, their faces aglow with joy, and the newlyweds in the center, sharing a tender moment. The whole day was so much fun mixed in with seeing how obviously in love Jay and Lewis are :)

Then came the first dance - Lewis twirling Jay around as everyone clapped along, a lovely end to a day filled to the brim with laughter, love, and a lot of character. I’ve photographed many weddings, but this one, with its mix of tradition and personal touches, was one to remember.

And there you have it! The winter wonderland wedding of Jay and Lewis at the Dunglass Estate. It was a riot, a pleasure, and a whirlwind, all wrapped into one unforgettable day.
