We LOVED this wedding! We first met Clare and Stewart when Clare was bridesmaid at Grant and Maria's wedding at Altskeith House on Loch Ard. They got in touch with us soon after to discuss us photographing their wedding and we all got on brilliantly. We soon discovered that Stewart's dad is Bryan's old boss too (no pressure there then!). Their date was booked for June this year but a little surprise came along in the form of their gorgeous baby Ryan, and so it was moved to October and as we viewed their images with them last night we all agreed that the autumn colours we got are stunning in the images, and they wouldn't have gotten that with a June wedding. Thankfully the weather on the day was amazing!
Everything was happening at the venue so they all got ready in the cottages dotted around the grounds of the castle....Clare still managed to be half an hour late though ;)
The ceremony was held in the pavillion as we just weren't too sure of the weather holding out for an outdoor ceremony, but the room looked stunning and it was such a happy atmosphere. Clare and Stewart smiled through the whole thing and you can't help but smile with them when you look at their photos.
Afterwards, everyone moved up to the castle for a drinks reception and family photos. Clare is from a military family and it was amazing to see the men representing in their uniforms, it was very unique and a pleasure to photograph.
Once we spent a bit of time photographing Clare and Stewart's bridal portraits we split up as we always do for one of us to photograph the dinner room details while the other captures candids of guests.
Speeches were presented by Clare's dad, the best man and Stewart. They were all fantastic but the standout was Stewart's "initiation" into Clare's family with The Shoe Game: a form of Mr and Mrs. It was hilarious and we were surprised to see them get so many corresponding answers! Stewart's face in these photos though!!
After dinner was the cake cutting, first dance and we also caught some ceilidh before we said goodnight. It was an honour to be involved in Clare and Stewart's wedding day and it's lovely to be able to call them friends now rather than clients. It was our first time at Fingask Castle and we would love to go back!
Here are some of our favourite images from the day.
