Our first wedding of the year was on 7 January at the Fairmont in St Andrews. We were really looking forward to it because it's been a couple of years since we were last there. It's an earlier start to the day for us as it's an hour and 45 mins drive but it's so worth it! The day started off mega foggy and on the drive there we were wondering what we were going to manage to get for outside photos. Thankfully it did clear enough to make it worth while going out and thanks to Katie the co-ordinator for the day for taking us to tee 16 which has stunning views.
When we arrived Caroline was waiting to get into the make up chair so we started on all the little detail photos that we love. Caroline's dress was gorgeous and we were so impressed to hear that she made her own veil! The morning was very calm and relaxing and it was the perfect start to the day.
The minister gave a really lovely wedding ceremony and we loved his lilting South African accent.
After some family photos under the grand staircase we headed out in the golf buggy to get these gorgeous bridal portraits. The fog was still hanging around but it did make them very atmospheric which we love. After dinner we got back outside for some photos in the dark with the twinkly lights in front of the hotel, which was nice to give variety from the photos earlier in the day.
Here are some of our favourite images from the day.
